Joe Beninati is in his 14th season of Washington Capitals television play-by-play on Comcast SportsNet (CSN) and its predecessor, Home Team Sports. In addition to his hockey work in the nation’s capital, Beninati is in his fourth season with the NHL’s national television package calling games at the network level through the Conference Finals. In past years, he has called regular season, Stanley Cup and World Cup games with ESPN, NHL Radio, and WFAN-New York, along with the 2002 and ’06 Olympic tournaments on Westwood One. Beninati graduated to the NHL in 1994 after five seasons of radio/TV play-by-play in the American Hockey League. A four-time Capital Region Emmy Award winner for excellence in composite play-by-play, Beninati has covered seven college sports for CSN.
